CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
This year, the IMX-in-Industry programme will take place on the third day of the conference, Friday 19th June. On the one hand, we are looking for stand-out presentations which will help to attract attention, but also provoke discussion, networking and collaboration amongst conference delegates throughout the day. On the other hand, we are also offering booths for exhibitions and demos, which will further expand the interaction and networking possibilities.
With these initiatives, we would like to showcase significant advances in research and development, technologies and real-world experiences that have industrial applicability. Contributions concerning business cases, marketing and market insights, case studies, best practices and lessons learned are also welcome.
In this regard, the participation in the IMX-in-Industry would be an ideal opportunity to demonstrate your organisation’s commitment and contributions to research and innovation, directly transmitting them to hundreds of delegates around the globe.
We welcome interesting contributions (presentations and/or booth/exhibition proposals) on all relevant topics covered by TVX / IMX, and provide the following non-exhaustive list for inspiration:
Contributions and solutions that seek to understand audiences using a rich variety of analytic approaches including sensing audiences, sentiment analysis, and measuring and monitoring quality of experience. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, consumption trends and behaviors in young audiences, sharing practices and communication strategies, identifying engagement patterns across diverse genres, platforms and demographics, scheduled versus on-demand content consumption, binge viewing, and multi-platform engagement.
The use of Big Data, AI, Deep Learning and Machine Learning approaches to increase the value of content and interactive media experiences. These can also include Recommender Systems, collective intelligence and crowdsourcing, or location-based and context-aware applications and services.
The application of social technologies, IoT, social media and connected viewing to media production and consumption.
Explorations of extended reality (VR, AR, MR, etc), highly realistic content, volumetric media, and novel forms of content production and consumption.
How and why consumers interact with media and with other consumers, and how their quality of experience, quality of interaction and immersion can be determined and maximized.
Content production paradigms including cross-platform services, ubiquitous approaches, interactive and transmedia storytelling, personalisation and immersive media production.
The architecture, design, deployment, and evaluation of end-to-end systems and technologies (including 5G) that support the capture, processing, delivery and consumption of interactive and immersive media experiences, including synchronisation and adaptability aspects.
The design, architecture, usage and evaluation of devices and interaction techniques that enable a connected ecosystem of devices and people, and create valuable new capabilities for interactive media experiences.
Novel business models and marketing strategies for the new media landscape (e.g. online services, location-based systems…). This topic includes studies around novel ways of advertising models and strategies (for example targeted advertising, programmatic buying).
Examples of how interactive and immersive technologies can provide fascinating in the culture, arts, and heritage sectors, among others.
Innovative design strategies, new concepts and prototypes, including case studies, media artworks, and performances.
Consumption practices, changing behavior as well as adoption and domestication of novel media services. This topic also includes research on ethical, regulatory, and policy issues as well as novel mechanisms for evaluating and measuring the impact of these novel media services and experiences.
Devices, platforms, tools, interaction modalities, presentation modes and, in general, solutions for better accessibility
1. FORMAT FOR INDUSTRY TALK PROPOSALS
Proposals to give a lightning talk at the IMX-in-Industry track must be submitted in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, with an extension of around 10 slides long and formatted using the IMX-in-Industry submission template available at the submission templates page. Please do not change the template and keep fonts and font sizes as prepared in the template. Submissions are not anonymous and should include authors’ names, affiliations, and contact information.
Your submission must include the following sections:
|1) Title page
2) Company Introduction
3) The Problem and/or Opportunity & Current Solutions (define the real problem/need you’re solving, and for who), the topic you are addressing
4) The Challenge (practical issues associated with your relevant topic)
5) Product/Service (what you did, what you offer or plan to offer)
6) Impact & What’s next: what it means, the potential impact, how others might use the findings, implications for practice, next steps
We encourage, but do not require, authors to use video to help tell the story. In doing exploratory or innovative practical work, things do not always go to plan. You may augment the presentation with additional material including videos or exhibit booth during the conference days.
At this stage, we would encourage PowerPoint submissions to be kept succinct and help us to understand what you would like to present, rather than providing the whole presentation itself. If successful, you will have the opportunity to prepare a richer set of content for the event and we will provide format guidelines and offer suggestions on how to maximise its impact.
AT THE CONFERENCE
Accepted proposals will be presented in the form of industry talks with a duration of 10 minutes + 5 minutes for questions & interaction, using the submitted presentation as a basis.
AFTER THE CONFERENCE
Your accepted presentation slides will be published in the conference adjunct proceedings (Figshare), not indexed in the ACM Digital Library. At least one author must register to attend the conference to give this presentation.
2. FORMAT FOR INDUSTRY BOOTHS/EXHIBITIONS
As an Industry agent or practitioner, you will also be offered the opportunity to have a booth for exhibitions, demos and networking during the third day of the TVX / IMX 2020 conference.
Proposals to have a booth / exhibition space at the IMX-in-Industry track must be submitted by using the template document available in the submission template page.
|This document will include at least the following information:
1) Company Name
2) Brief Description
3) What dissemination material will be provided
4) What exhibitions or demos will be showcased, highlighting the novel aspects and impact in industry
5) The demo requirements (electricity power, cables space, tables and chairs, poster board, screens…).
6) Any further information the applicant feels relevant.
AT THE CONFERENCE
Accepted proposals will have a booth to be able to disseminate promo material, give more information and showcase demos with the IMX community. The Exhibition track will happen during the third day of the conference, with slots to be confirmed.
TALK, BOOTH, OR BOTH
You can choose between applying for both an Industry talk and a booth, or just for a talk or a booth. Industry talks and exhibitions will happen during the same day, but will not overlap in time.
The acceptance of an Industry talk and/or Exhibition booth will require the registration of at least of representative of the company / organization.
BECOME A SPONSOR?
The interested companies / organizations will also have the opportunity to become a sponsor of the conference. The Sponsoring categories and packages can be found at the IMX website. Some of them include the registration to the conference!
