The ACM International Conference on Interactive Media Experiences (IMX) is the leading international conference for presentation and discussion of research into interactive media experiences. It brings together researchers and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines, from human-computer interaction, multimedia engineering and design, to media studies, media psychology and sociology.

IMX 2024 will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, from June 12 to 14, 2024.

The theme of the conference is:

“Exploring the Archipelago of Ideas: Crafting and Generating Immersive Experiences.”

The concept of Archipelago of Ideas draws its inspiration from the Stockholm archipelago and its harmonious ecosystem of interconnected islands. In much the same way, this suggests a future where immersive experiences are seamlessly linked, forming a cohesive and immersive narratives for participants. Just as Stockholm’s archipelago offers diverse and interconnected natural beauty, the “Archipelago of Ideas” envisions a world where ideas and technologies come together to generate experiences. This embraces the range from generative to hand crafted experiences, converging on creativity, and the fluidity of experience, and the interconnectedness of innovation
