IMX 2022 Is Planning for an In-Person Event & Remote Participation

The IMX 2022 committee is dedicated to providing the community with the best possible conference experience for all participants. IMX 2022 will happen in person June 22-24, 2022 in Aveiro, Portugal. For those who may be unable to travel to Aveiro, please register for remote participation and check the IMX 2022 Registration page for the most up to date information.

On-Site Safety Protocols

The health and safety of the IMX 2022 community—participants and volunteers alike—remains a top priority. With a focus on coming together safely this June, we will be implementing the following safety protocols for all in-person attendees.

Face Coverings: We strongly recommend all people attending indoor events at the conference to wear masks. Although masks are not mandatory in indoor places in Portugal, we kindly ask all in-person attendees to wear masks during the whole conference.

Social Distancing: Space planning in all meeting rooms will include social distancing. Coffee breaks, lunches and the social dinner will happen in large spaces with open areas or  balconies, if participants prefer to stay outside.

IMX 2022 may enforce additional requirements, particularly to align with Portuguese guidelines for masking and social distancing at the time of the conference.

Hygiene: Masks and hand sanitizer will be readily available in the conference venue.

Before You Travel

We will continue to closely monitor specific travel advisories through official channels, which include the World Health Organization (WHO) and the government of Portugal guidelines, as well as safety guidelines at the local levels:
