Tupac Martir is an award-winning, multidisciplinary digital artist whose work redefines the boundaries of lighting design, performative reality, and the integration of cutting-edge technology across music, theatre, fashion, opera, and immersive exhibitions.<\/p>

With over two decades of experience at the intersection of technology, science, and art, Martir\u2019s recent practice explores the creative potential of Large Language Models (LLMs), Virtual Reality (VR), and Virtual Production (VP).<\/p>

His pioneering projects\u2014such as Unique and Haita (the latter premiered at the 2025 Bogota Audiovisual Market)\u2014seamlessly merge entertainment, media, and the visual arts. In Unique, Martir used narrative technology (AI and XR) for a real-time content adaptation performance that explored the topic of identity.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2024, Tupac received the Profile Award for Outstanding Achievement in Innovation for his lighting design on Find Your Eyes, a celebrated work by British choreo-photolist Benji Reid.<\/p>

His expertise also extended to the Virtual Production team for Amazon Prime\u2019s Fallout series, which earned significant critical acclaim and two Emmy Awards in 2024.<\/p>

Most recently, in December 2025, his immersive mixed-reality experience, Cadence of Altered Illusions (CAI), was showcased and validated at UnitedXR Europe as part of the EU Transmixr project.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Abstract:\u00a0<\/b>In a world that turns faster to a new digital reality, the performance world needs to see the possibilities that exist within it, not as a space but rather as a new media for the audiences. The ability of making new pieces that are not just a recreation of a physical or already made piece, but rather using the new tools to create a new type of performance. Tupac will explain some of the things they are creating at Satore that are revolutionising how technology can become an active actor within the performance, not just an enabler.<\/p>

Peabody Award Winner Nonny de la Pe\u00f1a is the program director of Arizona State University\u2019\u2019s Narrative and Emerging Media program, a best-in-class research and graduate program based in Los Angeles with a focus on new narratives developed using emerging media technologies in the areas of arts, culture and nonfiction. The program is a joint undertaking by The Sidney Poitier New American Film School, in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Often called the \u201cGodmother of Virtual Reality\u201d for her impactful work, she is an honorary fellow of the Royal Academy of Art, a New America Fellow, a Yale Poynter Media Fellow and a former correspondent for Newsweek. With more than twenty years working as an award-winning writer, director and producer, she pioneered the genre of immersive journalism, leading to accolades such as Wired Magazine\u2019s #MakeTechHuman Agent of Change, and Fast Company\u2019s \u201cOne of the People Who Made the World More Creative.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

As the founder of Emblematic Group, she is renowned for using cutting-edge immersive technologies to create content \u2014 both fictional and news-based \u2014 that create intense, empathic engagement via virtual, mixed and augmented reality and artificial intelligence. De la Pe\u00f1a has appeared on the cover of the Wall Street Journal Magazine as Technology Innovator of the Year, was inducted into the SXSW Hall of fame in 2022 and was named one of CNET en Espa\u00f1ol\u2019s 20 most influential Latinos in tech. She serves on several boards and committees, including the World Economic Forum\u2019s Metaverse Future Council, Advisory Board Member for Wendy Schmidt\u2019s latest endeavor centered around technology for good, AGOG, and has served as commission chair for the Los Angeles Mayoral\u2019s MEXLA, an endeavor to strengthen the relationship between Los Angeles and Mexico.<\/p>

She continues to innovate using new technologies including Emblematic’s WebXR platform REACH.Love, a no-code toolset that creates scalable distribution in the medium, democratizes content authorship, and empowers new voices to share their Stories.<\/p>

De la Pe\u00f1a earned a BA in sociology and visual and environmental studies from Harvard University, an MA in online communities from the USC\u2019s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and a PhD in media arts and practice from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Abstract:\u00a0<\/b>Nonny de la Pe\u00f1a, PhD, will discuss some of the key considerations about the experience of the body in constructing extended reality stories including the embodied edit, duality of presence and spatial narratives. Looking back at her early career as a journalist, she will discuss how journalism’s best practices informed her thinking throughout her now years-deep virtual and augmented reality career. She will also discuss work using new techynologies including 3D and 4D gaussian splatting for both headset and WebXR deployment.<\/p>

Aljosa Smolic is Professor in the Computer Science Department of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland and Co-Head of the Immersive Realities Research Lab. Before he was Professor of Creative Technologies at Trinity College Dublin heading the research group V-SENSE, Senior Research Scientist and Group Leader at Disney Research Zurich, and Scientific Project Manager and Group Leader at Fraunhofer HHI. He is also a Co-Founder of the company Volograms, which commercializes volumetric video technology. Prof. Smolic\u2019s expertise is in the broad area of visual computing (covering image\/video processing, computer vision, computer graphics) with a focus on immersive XR technologies. Title:<\/b> AI-based Volumetric Content Creation for Immersive XR Experiences and Production Workflows<\/p>

Abstract:\u00a0<\/b>Capture and 3D reconstruction of real-world objects, scenes, environments, and people for creation of digital 3D assets is an important task in XR and media production. Classical methods of visual computing are known for instance as photogrammetry for static content or volumetric video for dynamic content. Recently, AI-based methods like Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) and Gaussian Splatting disrupted the scientific field and created a lot of interest in the production industry. However, integration of such content with standard production workflows is not straight-forward, due to the specific nature of the data.
