Mentors will be able to advice on how to structure papers, give editorial tips and proofread submissions not offer opinions on methodology or the ideas being presented.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year\u2019s Mentoring program is specifically geared towards the <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/imx.acm.org\/2020\/research-papers\/\">Papers<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> track so that those who need additional support in their submission can be assisted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will aim to get you in contact with a specific member of the community who will provide feedback and support on the presentation of your submission. Those receiving mentoring will be offered:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Opportunity for feedback over video call from their mentor.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A commented draft per each feedback session.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note that this is primarily aimed at those who are new to submitting an academic paper, those in circumstances which are particular adverse (e.g. a disability or personal circumstances which impact upon the paper preparation process), those for who English is a second language or a particularly novel submission which may require additional input.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8b2f1a7 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default elementor-section elementor-top-section\" data-id=\"8b2f1a7\" data-element_type=\"section\"><div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\"><div class=\"elementor-row\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ada01de elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column\" data-id=\"ada01de\" data-element_type=\"column\"><div class=\"elementor-column-wrap  elementor-element-populated\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0cc85a5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0cc85a5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\"><div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><h2><strong>KEY FACTS<\/strong><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deadlines for applying for mentoring: 7th of January, 2020<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applications for mentoring can be made by email the <\/span><strong><a href=\"mailto:diversity@tvx2020.com\">diversity chairs<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Applications do not need to be in any special format. However, it can be helpful in finding the right mentor if you include some information about your paper topic when applying.
